Le Puy du Fou: A unique multi-award-winning theme park in France! Embark on an unforgettable journey through time, from the Roman Era to the 20th century!

Futuroscope is an extraordinary place where the real and the imaginary meet. Here, you can travel to Mars on a roller coaster, jump into a tornado, dance in the arms of a robot or meet the Rabbids.

The Zoo de Doué is a 14-hectare zoo that opened in 1961 in Doué-la-Fontaine, Maine-et-Loire, France. The zoo is home to some 1,000 individual animals representing about 100 species, and is a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums

There are plenty of Church's & Chateau's to visit in the surrounding area, we're happy to provide some recommendations.

There are delightful circular walks from the gites with further opportunities for cycling, including the cycle track on the former railway between Bressuire and Nueil-les-Aubiers.

There are many opportunities for fishing on our river and islands, but if you'd prefer someone else to catch your fish and cook it for you, there are excellent restaurants, both inexpensive and gourmet, in the surrounding area. Ask us for details of our favourites!

Argentonnay, 7km (4 miles) away has a small supermaket and bakery, and holds a weekly market.

In Bressuire (17km's away - just over 10 miles) there's an indoor swimming pool, cinema, bowling alley, market, shops, restaurants & cafes. Bressuire also boasts a sculpture park in the grounds of its 11th century chateau and a riverside walk.

If you prefer open air swimming, there's an open-air summer swimming pool 7km (4 miles) away in Argenton-les-Vallees, as well as a cinema and a supermarket.

If shopping is your thing, there is excellent shopping in historic towns such as Cholet, Nantes, Poitiers, Samaur and Niort.
​
The Loire Valley is within easy reach for your wine requirements (although we recommend the local wines too!), and if you fancy a day at the beach you can reach La Rochelle and the soft sandy Atlantic coast beaches just 100km (60 miles) away.
